Privacy Policy

Overview

OpenYak is designed as a local-first office assistant. Conversations and generated artifacts are stored on your local machine by default.

What We Store

  • Conversation history and artifacts in your local app data.
  • Local settings such as selected model and preferences.
  • Billing/account metadata only when you connect an OpenYak account.

Network Requests

OpenYak sends prompts and context to model providers when you run model requests. If you use OpenRouter or your own API key, those requests are governed by the provider's terms and privacy policies.

Your Control

  • You can remove local conversations and artifacts at any time.
  • You can use your own OpenRouter API key (BYOK mode).
  • You can uninstall OpenYak and delete local data from your machine.
