OpenYak 1.2.0 — Background Chat Sessions
1.2.0 brings Codex / Claude Code Desktop-style background chat sessions: streams keep running when you switch chats, the sidebar shows a live spinner per session, closing and reopening the app resumes any still-running session, and finishing in the background fires a native OS notification. Also bundles the multi-agent task batch composer and the MIT → Apache-2.0 relicense.

Originally shipped Apr 24, 2026 with a deliberately vague "Local API Hardening" entry while we ran the coordinated-disclosure cooling window. This is the detailed public version: a CSRF chain in the loopback-bound desktop API let any web page you happened to visit execute arbitrary shell commands on your machine through the OpenYak build agent. CVSS 9.6. Patched in v1.1.3 (now superseded by v1.1.10). All versions ≤ v1.1.2 are affected.

OpenYak 1.1.2 — Clickable Activity Summary, Workspace-Scoped File Previews & Mutually Exclusive Panels
Quality-of-life follow-up to 1.1.1. The activity summary under each assistant message is clickable again (the onClick was silently no-op'ing), PDF / DOCX / PPTX / XLSX previews now fetch against the active workspace and render CJK/standard fonts correctly, and side panels (Workspace / Activity / Artifact / PlanReview) are mutually exclusive so they no longer cover each other. Sidebar gets a new translucent theme token driven by your chosen background, and the collapse/expand motion matches the panels.

Polish release. A new Appearance → Customize panel lets you tune accent / background / foreground, UI and code fonts (family + size), and pointer cursors independently for light and dark. The main sidebar — and a dedicated Settings sidebar — is now drag-resizable, the new-chat landing greets you by workspace, and the updater flow is noticeably smoother.
